Why We Celebrate Independence Day

“Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.” - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Independence Day is once again nearly upon us, and Arizonans everywhere will brave the triple digit heat to celebrate with friends and family. So as we gather around picnics, BBQ’s, parks, and fireworks let’s all take the time to remember why we celebrate Independence Day.

For over 200 years, Independence Day has been the celebration of the day we declared our independence from Great Britain. Since Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence it has been a symbol of freedom known worldwide. As a result, the Fourth of July is a day to celebrate our freedom, specifically the freedom to govern ourselves.

Americans have always known that Independence Day is the day we celebrate our freedoms that the Founders fought and died for. As a nation combatting everything from political unease and ISIS terrorist attacks to issues with health care and unemployment, now more than ever we all need unite as Americans to remember the extreme sacrifices that have been made to protect our great country and our rights.

Please enjoy this patriotic holiday and remember those who have given their lives for our country. Because freedom isn’t free! The Regal Team wishes you all a safe and Happy 4th of July!
